Life Insurance Benefits
Roche offers a comprehensive life insurance program, including both employer-paid plans and voluntary, employee-paid programs from which you can choose to participate to supplement your insurance needs. You have the freedom to design a life insurance program that best fits your needs.

Roche provides basic life and AD&D insurance equal to two times your base salary at no cost to you. You have the option to purchase additional basic life coverage ranging from $25,000 to $300,000, dependent life insurance, and accidental death insurance for you and your eligible dependents. The company also provides business travel accident coverage for when you are traveling on company business.

Disability Benefits
To ensure you have choices to provide adequate financial protection for you and your family if an illness or injury keeps you away from work, Roche provides salary continuation and a long-term disability plan. Roche continues to pay 100% of your base salary for up to 90 days of disability, at no cost to you. Long-term disability provides income replacement for a portion of your pay during a period when you are totally disabled. Roche provides long-term disability (LTD) coverage to replace 50% of your base and incentive pay at no cost to you. You may increase your income replacement level at an additional cost.

Retirement Plans
Roche provides a valuable retirement program that consists of two plans that work together with Social Security to provide you with a complete benefit during your retirement years.

  • Roche U.S. Retirement Plan
A defined contribution plan where Roche Diagnostics makes payments into the plan on your behalf.

  • The Cash Accumulation Plan (“CAP”)
A 401(k) savings plan with voluntary participation. You can contribute up to 20% of your pay (up to the annual IRS limit) to the CAP. After completing a year of service, Roche Diagnostics matches your CAP contributions with $1 for every $1 you save, up to 4% of your pay.
