Roche Diagnostics Corporation and NMS Management Services Working
to Fight Drugs in Florida School
Indianapolis, Indiana - November 11, 2002 - NMS Management Services,
of Delray Beach, Fla. has chosen Roche Diagnostics Corporation,
of Indianapolis, Ind., products to provide drugs of abuse screening
to school systems in the state of Florida.
On June 27, 2002, the U.S. Supreme Court upheld a ruling that allows
public schools to randomly drug test students involved in extracurricular
activities. This has given the green light to public schools across
the country to use random drug testing procedures. David Evans,
Drug-Free Schools Coalition, of Flemington, NJ, said of the ruling,
"It is a victory for common sense and our schools will be safer
as a result."
NMS Management Services, Inc., is a full-service drug-screening
company, founded in 1988 by Elaine Taule. As a mother of six children,
14 years ago Taule educated herself on the signs and symptoms of
substance abuse. That education flourished into a successful business
that now has more than 1,000 clients nationwide and a staff of 20.
NMS designs drug screening programs tailored to meet each client's
specific needs.
"NMS Management Services was born out of the desire to see
teenagers and schools drug-free and safe. We administer drug-screening
programs and help develop policy, procedures and protocol. Random
drug testing would help prevent drug abuse by teenagers at a time
when adolescent drug use in on the rise," says Elaine Taule,
President of NMS Management Services, Inc.
"NMS has chosen the drug-testing products offered by Roche
Diagnostics, the leading U.S. diagnostics company, because Roche
brings more than 30 years of experience and corporate commitment
to drugs-of-abuse screening technology. Roche drug-testing products
are recognized nationwide. However, we chose Roche products, not
only because Roche is a market leader, but because Roche offers
the most comprehensive training, educational support, product support
against legal challenges, and 24-hour service to their customers."
"We are very pleased to work with NMS in this worthwhile endeavor
- helping schools ensure a drug-free environment," said Jackie
Pirone, Marketing Manager, Roche Diagnostics. "Like NMS, we
are interested in assisting school systems in preventing, deterring,
and detecting drug use. Drug testing is a strong incentive for students
to avoid any involvement with drugs."
