Roche Diagnostics Awarded Immunoassay Contract by AmeriNet®

Indianapolis, IN. -- Today, Roche Diagnostics Corporation announced that it has been awarded a new contract to provide immunoassay instruments, reagents, and consumables to AmeriNet members. Covered under this contract are Elecsys® assays for proBNP, troponin T, PSA, D-Dimer, and the hepatitis portfolio, as well as therapeutic drug monitoring and drugs-of-abuse assays. Effective June 1, 2003, the three-year contract has a total value of close to $500 million.

This new contract continues a long-term relationship between AmeriNet and Roche Diagnostics in the areas of clinical chemistry, hematology, blood glucose monitoring, and hospital point-of-care testing. It is the first new award for Roche Diagnostics under AmeriNet's new strategy of competitively bidding major contract categories to bring more value to their membership and to their trading partners.

Under the contract, AmeriNet members will have access to Roche's Elecsys platform, including the MODULAR® ANALYTICS E 170, Elecsys 2010 analyzer, and Elecsys 1010 analyzer, as well COBAS Integra®, Roche/Hitachi, and MODULAR ANALYTICS chemistry modules. The test menu covered by this contract comprises all immunoassays including therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) and drugs-of-abuse testing (DAT).
