Roche
Diagnostics Evening of Angels Gala Slated for Friday, June 18
Roche Diagnostics named as Title Sponsor
Roche Diagnostics has been named the Title Sponsor of this year's
Evening of Angels gala. Slated for Friday, June 18, the gala is
a black-tie fundraiser for Christel House, the international children's
charity founded by local businesswoman and philanthropist Christel
DeHaan.
Now in its fourth year, the gala traditionally launches United
States Grand Prix weekend and is co-chaired by Indianapolis Motor
Speedway President and CEO Tony George and his wife Laura. This
year's festivities will transport guests back in time to the glamour
and romance inspired by Hollywood in the late 1940s. The Ancient
Scottish Rite Cathedral will be transformed into a swank supper
club reminiscent of years gone by. Festivities begin at 6:30 p.m.
with a cocktail reception and silent auction followed by a full
sit down dinner in the grand ballroom. After a live auction, which
will feature a 165+ mph ride around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway
in a two-seater race car, the Cool City Swing Band featuring Tommy
Mullinix will take to the stage as guests enjoy a night of dancing.
Adding to the very special ambiance of the evening will be celebrity
emcee and famed bandleader "Doc" Severinsen who appeared
for many years on Johnny Carson's Tonight Show. Doc has promised
to join the band for a few signature pieces throughout the evening.
The mission of Christel House is to help children around the world
break the cycle of poverty and become self-sufficient, contributing
members of their societies. Christel House learning centers provide
K through 12 education, meals, health care, life skills, outreach
programs, love and nurture to nearly 2,000 children on a daily basis.
Ms. DeHaan has made arrangements to provide for all general and
administrative expenses in perpetuity, enabling 100 percent of all
proceeds to directly benefit the children. Christel House is a registered
501 (c)(3) international charity.
Roche Diagnostics is the leading in
vitro diagnostics company in the United States, and its North
American headquarters are located in Indianapolis. "The Christel
House is an important organization not only serving children in
our local community, but also those around the world. Roche Diagnostics
