Roche Diagnostics Earns Preferred Supplier Awards from Top US Medical Distributors
Roche Diagnostics honored for exceptional service to AmerisourceBergen, Cardinal Health, McKesson Corp

Roche Diagnostics Corporation of Indianapolis, Ind. announces that it has received exceptional industry marks and recognition from the nation's leading medical distribution suppliers for outstanding service and support. Over the last 12 months, Roche Diagnostics has been honored by AmerisourceBergen, Cardinal Health and McKesson Corporation with supplier of the year awards based upon stringent measures for superior service and value creating relationships.

Roche Diagnostics' title honors from three of the nations leading healthcare service providers include:

  • Cardinal Health's Supplier Quality Award every year 1999-2004.
  • McKesson Corporation's Vendor of the Year Award every year 2000-2003.
  • AmerisourceBergen's Manufacturer of the Year Award, 2003

"We are truly honored to have gained this recognition by these medical distributors because they hold all of their suppliers accountable for numerous measures to ensure outstanding quality, service and support, with an intense focus on the customers who rely on their products and services." said Bill Lister, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Patient Care, Roche Diagnostics. "We believe that a major part of our success is because we have passionate people who each take personal responsibility to anticipate the needs and develop trusting relationships with our customers."

In the US, these medical distributors are the leading suppliers for Roche Diagnostics' ACCU-CHEK™ products and services to retail pharmacies, healthcare providers, physician offices, and alternative care markets such as long-term care, home healthcare services or prescription mail order facilities. Each distributor utilizes stringent performance criteria to ensure their thousands of suppliers provide them safe, efficient, reliable products and services.

For example, Cardinal Health measures nine specific metrics or "scorecards", from delivery to marketing, which are monitored throughout the year. A combination of customer satisfaction, which includes on-time delivery, percent of product received and lead time performance, and scorecard percentages, earned Roche Diagnostics' Diabetes Care the Supplier Quality Awards.

"Roche trusts their people to make decisions and to serve the customers in their best interest," said John Himmelstein, Vice President of Consumer Health, Cardinal Health. "Whether it is in Purchasing, Customer Service or Marketing, and all the way up to senior management we have always enjoyed a very open, very responsive channel with Roche Diagnostics."

"From the sales account manager who interacts with our customers to customer fulfillment teams and the entire supply chain who ensures consistent and reliable delivery to our customers, it takes a total organizational focus to achieve success in the measures that are recorded. We are dedicated to providing our customers with exceptional service and this outstanding recognition is a testament to our commitment," Lister added.
