Roche Diagnostics Troponin T test now available with heparin sample
One tube solution provides quick turnaround time for labs and physicians

Roche Diagnostics announced today that the FDA cleared heparin-compatible Elecsys® Troponin T STAT and Troponin T assays were available. The heparin sample flexibility provides reduction in pre-analytical time for laboratories. This test coupled with the Elecsys 2010 analyzer 9-minute assay provides the opportunity for troponin turnaround time results consistent with emergency physicians expectations and treatment guidelines.

Only one tube is required for a broad menu of shortness of breath tests, including d-Dimer, NT-proBNP, and Troponin T, which can all be run on the same sample and provide rapid information that allow emergency departments to expediently and confidently release the patient or transfer to the appropriate care unit.

In addition, for patients presenting with myocardial infarction whose symptoms have developed within 24-48 hours, the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association (ACC/AHA) recommends a comprehensive group of tests for management of patients with ST-Elevated Myocardial Infarction1 including: Troponin T, electrolytes, BUN, Creatinine, Glucose, Lipids which can be loaded and processed with a single heparin sample on Roche’s Integrated MODULAR ANALYTICS system.

Troponin T with heparin sample compatibility is available and can be used on: Elecsys 1010, 2010 and E170 systems.
