Roche Diagnostic recognizes that benefits are a valuable component of our total compensation package and we continually review the plans, services, and coverage to ensure we provide our people with a comprehensive, competitive package.
Medical Plan
Roche Diagnostics' medical plan provides comprehensive protection to assist you with the cost of health care by making coverage available to you and your family at affordable prices. You may choose among several deductible levels in the Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) option. Once you've met your individual or family deductible, the PPO plan option generally pays 80% of your covered expenses. Once the amount you have paid in deductible and co-insurance expenses reach the out-of-pocket maximum, the plan pays 100% of eligible expenses for the remainder of the year.
Prescription Plan
When you enroll in one of the Anthem medical plans you automatically receive prescription drug coverage. When you purchase prescriptions at retail pharmacies you pay 25% of the cost but you won’t pay less or more than the set minimums and maximums. A mail order program is also available for maintenance medications.
Extended Family Benefits
Roche Diagnostics offers medical, dental, vision, and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) benefits to extended family members who live with our people as one more way to support the diversity of today's families. You may enroll yourself, plus one additional adult who has lived with you for at least three consecutive months and has no other group coverage available. Other benefits not related to health, such as personal leaves and bereavement leave are also available for domestic partners.
Dental Plan
Roche offers one dental plan option. The plan has nationwide networks covers preventive, basic, and major services. You may also choose a non-network dentist for your dental care. If you choose a dentist in the network, preventive services are covered at 100% with no deductible and after meeting a $50 deductible, basic services are covered at 80% and major services are covered at 50%.
Vision Plan
Roche provides voluntary vision benefits that are designed to protect your visual wellness and to promote good vision care. The plan covers your annual eye exam at 100% after a $10 copay and allows you to purchase glasses and contacts at a discount. When you use in-network provides you pay less.
Flexible Spending Accounts
Flexible Spending Accounts allow you to set aside pre-tax money to pay for healthcare and dependent care expenses with tax free dollars. This reduces the amount of income taxes you pay each year and makes the money you spend go further. Roche offers you two flexible spending accounts: a Health CARE Spending Account for your health care expenses not covered by insurance such as prescription drugs, and over-the-counter drug, and dental care expenses. The Dependent CARE Spending Account allows you to get reimbursed for your dependent child/ children daycare expenses. You may participate in either or both accounts. You may contribute up to $5,000 per year in each of the CARE Accounts.

Roche will continue to reimburse you for 100% of the cost of Hoffman La Roche:
- Pharmaceuticals
- Diagnostics products
- Supplies (including monitors, glucose testing strips, lancets, lancet devices and insulin pumps and infusion sets)
